Projective Tools

Engaging and interactive, our wide range of techniques elicit emotional depth for greater understanding of your consumer.

eCollage™

Pictures project a powerful inner story with eCollage, our proprietary collage building exercise. Respondents use a non-lexical, indirect format to reveal personal feelings, using images as metaphors to reduce dependency on rational thoughts. Follow-ups explore why images are selected and their connection to the question.

Concept Focus

What’s compelling here? Confusing? Appealing? Concept Focus is our proprietary highlighting tool that allows respondents to mark text or images on a concept and give specific reasoning behind each annotation. Marketers quickly grasp which specific elements motivate interest and why, aiding further refinement.

Blobs

Developed by therapist Pip Wilson, Blobs are amorphous characters that comprise a range of gestures and expressions to help consumers articulate thoughts and emotions. Participants select a Blob to characterize their feelings or associations in response to questions. Follow-up probes reveal vivid language and narrative.

Swipe

Tap into respondents’ instinctive reaction and find out if they would ‘swipe right’ on your product, device, advertising elements or messages. Participants can then further explain their choices with highlighting options and detailed verbatim. Combined with measurement of the Swipe times and integrated in-the-moment experiences, you get actionable insights on ideas to move forward with and how to optimize and refine them. In today’s mobile-centric world, this exercise leaves participants with an enjoyable, more satisfying experience.

Thought Bubble

Thought Bubble is an engaging storytelling exercise where participants script a dialogue or imagine what others are thinking in response to visual stimuli and indirect questioning. This third party means of querying reveals truer feelings and expression than direct modes. We offer a broad range of visual scenarios and can customize to specific client needs.

Interactive Shelf

A virtual in-store or on-line shopping experience to uncover purchase interest and mimic shopping behavior with brand recall, find time, cart capabilities and diagnostics to improve packaging.

Configurator

An interactive building and co-creation exercise to yield richer understanding for early-stage branding, product development, packaging, and more. Consumers build their ideal scenario and describe their process.
